Support

Questions, answered straight.

No help-center maze. Twenty real questions, twenty real answers. Search them, filter them, or just ask us.

How does setup work?

Your kit ships free. Plug the modem into any coax outlet, connect your router, and you’re online in about 15 minutes. No technician, no appointment, no four-hour window where nobody shows up.

Do I need a technician to come to my apartment?

No. ConnectNYC is fully self-install. If your building already has our rooftop equipment, you’re live the moment your kit arrives. And if you get stuck, our 24/7 chat will walk you through it — with a human.

Will setup damage my apartment?

No drilling, no holes, no new wiring. Our signal rides the coax cable already in your walls, so setup is just plugging a modem into an existing outlet. Your security deposit stays out of it.

What if my building doesn’t have ConnectNYC equipment yet?

Tell your landlord about us, or join the waitlist and we’ll handle the building-owner conversation ourselves. We license rooftop space, owners earn revenue plus free common-area internet, and you get a real choice of provider. Details at Property Owners.

Will my price ever increase?

No. The price you sign up at is your price — permanently. There’s no promo window quietly counting down to a surprise. $89 on day one is $89 on day one thousand.

Are there any hidden fees?

None. No broadcast fee, no regional sports fee, no mysterious “network enhancement” fee. The price on our site is the total on your bill, plus any applicable taxes — which we state at checkout, not after.

Is there a contract?

No. You’re month to month, forever. Stay because the internet is great, not because a piece of paper says you have to — and cancel in one click whenever you want.

What equipment do I need?

One modem: $149, one time, and it’s yours. A router is optional — ours is $149 and tuned for our network, or bring any standard router you already own. That’s the whole shopping list.

What is the NYC Speed Guarantee?

If your speeds consistently fall below your plan, we fix the problem or credit your account. It’s in writing — not buried in “up to” fine print. We argue with our network, not with you.

How do I reach support?

Live chat, 24/7 — staffed by real humans in New York, not a chatbot maze. You can also email support@connectnyc.com, or text and WhatsApp us on most plans. We actually respond.

Is there a data cap?

No. Stream, download, back up your entire life — we don’t count it, and we never throttle you for usage. Unlimited should mean unlimited, so ours does.

Do you offer business plans?

Yes. Business Standard is $349/mo for 500/200 Mbps. Business Pro is $549/mo for 1 Gbps/500 Mbps with an SLA and a static IP. Full details at Plans.

What areas do you currently cover?

We’re live on the Upper West Side — W 57th to 110th Street, Central Park West to Riverside. The map and address checker are at Coverage. We’re expanding, so join the waitlist and we’ll email you the moment your block lights up.

What makes ConnectNYC different from cable internet?

Our network runs rooftop to rooftop on next-generation fixed wireless, then rides the coax already inside your building — no streets dug up, no construction crews. The business model is different on purpose too: no contracts, no caps, no price hikes. The full story is at About.

Can I use my own router?

Yes — any standard router works. Ours is tuned for our network and costs $149 if you want it, but it’s genuinely optional. We’re not in the equipment-rental business.

What kind of speeds can I realistically expect?

The number on your plan, consistently. Essential delivers 100/50 Mbps, Plus 500/100, and Ultra 1000/500, with typical latency around 10, 8, and 5 ms respectively. All of it backed by the NYC Speed Guarantee — in writing.

How do I cancel?

One click in your account. No phone call, no hold music, no “retention specialist” reading a script at you. The whole thing takes under a minute.

Is there an early termination fee?

$0. There’s nothing to terminate early, because there’s no contract to begin with. You can’t be fined for leaving something you were never locked into.

What if I move to a new apartment?

If your new building is in our coverage area, your service moves with you — free. If it’s not, cancel in one click and rejoin whenever we reach your new block. Either way, no penalty.

What happens to my equipment if I cancel?

Nothing — it’s yours. You bought it, you keep it. Sell it, shelf it, or hold onto it for when you come back. No return-shipping ritual, no “unreturned equipment” fee.

Nothing matches that search. Try different words, or just ask us: support@connectnyc.com
